Adeline Bachman and her daughter, Maggie Mae, are the only surviving Bachman's Life was peaceful until Big Sid Davenport started building a huge flour mill in the town. This would obviously shut down the Bachman mill. Consulting the town attorney, O.C. Cash, Adeline fought to keep her mill alive. She finally found a clause in the original building permit that did not allow any competing mills to be built. but she didn't find this out until the very day the mill was to open.
