Our 1987 show...
Lake Woe is Me
This small northern Minnesota village is the home of Bachman’s Flour Mill, which has been around for 105 years. In fact, it was the very first building in the town. Adeline Bachman and her daughter, Maggie Mae, are the only surviving Bachmans. Life was peaceful until Big Sid Davenport started building a huge flour mill in the town. This would obviously shut down the Bachman mill. Consulting the town attorney, O.C. Cash, Adeline fought to keep her mill alive. She finally found a clause in the original building permit that did not allow any competing mills to be built, but she didn’t find this out until the very day the mill was to open. Tempers flare as these Flour Merchants discuss the options in front of the townsfolk during the Annual Apple and Prune Festival.
